Southern California Software Engineering Symposium (SuCSES)

This one-day symposium brings together researchers, leaders in industry, and technical practitioners to Southern California to discuss trends in the field of software engineering, showcase current research, and formulate visions on strategic future research and technological directions. 

The program features:

  • Keynote 1: Hans-Martin Will, Ph.D., Head of Innovation Center Newport Beach, SAP
    "When Everything is an Experiment – Software Engineering in the Age of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence"
  • Keynote 2: Emerson Murphy-Hill, Ph.D., Staff Research Scientist, Google
    "Software Developer Diversity and Inclusion"
  • Seven talks by faculty from UCI, UCSB, UCSD, UCR, USC, and Cal State San Marcos
  • Over 20 posters and demonstrations at the Open House over lunch
  • Social Hour with Informatics Department to close the day
