Adventures in Physics: Fusion Energy

This lively physics show and lecture will entertain children and adults.

1:00pm - UCI students will kick off the event with a lively show demonstrating concepts of electricity. Learn about voltage, current and resistance. Watch the jumping ring and the can crusher, and participate in educational hands-on activities.

2:00pm - Professor Bill Heidbrink describes the quest to use magnetic fields to harness fusion energy for clean, abundant electricity. Is there a magnetic bottle that can contain 100-million degree ions?

3:00pm - Following the demonstrations and lecture, UCI students will host a Q&A session about life in college.

Please RSVP by Feb. 1.
