2019 Reines Lecture by Jocelyn Bell Burnell; The Discovery of Pulsars

Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell is Chancellor of the University of Dundee and a visiting professor at Oxford University. As a graduate student at Cambridge University in 1967, she discovered pulsars, one of the most profound and significant astronomical discoveries of the 20th century. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, former President of the Institute of Physics, and former President of the Royal Astronomical Society, and she has received numerous accolades, including the Herschel Medal from the Royal Astronomical Society.
