GRAPHIC IDENTITY STANDARDS Overview A clear and consistent visual identity strengthens UC Irvines image. This site outlines the campuss graphic identity standards relating to logos, colors and graphic elements that create a strong visual identity and provides guidelines, downloadable files and examples. Related Nomenclature Guidelines assist in communicating about the university in a manner consistent with the graphic identity standards. These standards are primarily for use in campus print and electronic communications, such as brochures, newsletters and Web sites. A UC Irvine logo should be included when designing such communications. The standards do not apply to university letterhead and business cards, or other purposes requiring use of the UC seal, which is subject to specific University of California policies. Use of the UC seal for purposes other than letterhead and business cards requires approval from the Chancellor’s Office; call 949-824-5112 for assistance. The Core UC Irvine Logo
These standards revolve around the core UC Irvine logo, which is a custom adaptation of the Minion typeface using condensed spacing and, thus, should not be recreated. Campus logo variations can be downloaded from this site; campus unit nameplates (which attach unit names to the UC Irvine logos) are available from University Communications; call 949-824-7919 or e-mail clove@uci.edu for assistance.
