TSUNAMI DISASTER RELIEF

Dear Colleagues:

In view of the recent disasters, we want to ensure that UC Irvine provides information and appropriate support to those faculty, staff and students who may have been affected, or have immediate and/or extended family members affected, by the earthquake and tsunami in Asia and east Africa.

The following campus resources are available to offer counseling services to all faculty, staff and students:

  • Njeeri wa Ngugi, director, Faculty and Staff Counseling Center, at nngugi@uci.edu or (949) 824-8355
  • Student Counseling Center at counseling@uci.edu or (949) 824-6457
  • Laurie Lucas, manager, Medical Center Employee Assistance Program, at ltlucas@uci.edu or (714) 456-7605.
We have received many calls asking where people can contribute to the relief effort. For a comprehensive list of relief organizations working in the disaster area, please visit the USAID Web site.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.
