Nevada official to talk climate change at UCI Women in Water seminar
| Event: | Water expert Pat Mulroy will speak on “Climate Change and the American West: Can We Adapt?” at the second annual Women in Water seminar, hosted by the UC Irvine Urban Water Research Center. A panel discussion with women in water-related fields will follow the lecture. Mulroy oversees operations of the Las Vegas Valley Water District, which serves more than 340,000 customers, and the Southern Nevada Water Authority, which acquires, treats and delivers water to agencies serving 2 million residents and 40 million visitors annually. |

| Background: | Pat Mulroy serves on the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies and National Water Resources Association boards of directors, and she is on the American Water Works Association Research Foundation board of trustees. She was the original chair of the Western Urban Water Coalition and served on the Colorado River Water Users Association’s board of directors. UCI’s Urban Water Research Center fosters understanding of urban water issues to assist local, state and federal agencies in their efforts to promote health, enhance the efficient and fair use of water resources, and protect the environment. |
