RadioFlag to launch smartphone app at UCI
| Event: | KUCI and Irvine-based live radio content search engine RadioFlag are celebrating the release of the RadioFlag Web/mobile application with a four-hour live broadcast from UC Irvine’s Student Center. Special guests include KFI’s Rich Marotta and Los Angeles Lakers commentators Mychal Thompson and Spero Dedes. Lakers forward Ron Artest, former major league pitcher Mark Gubicza and former five-time world boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard are expected to call in to the program. Prizes including Lakers playoff tickets will be raffled off. |

| Background: | The RadioFlag smartphone application was created in part by UCI students and software engineers Devin Pigera and Anthony Tse and UCI alumnus Sushant Dewan. The app filters on-air content and delivers to users a customized blend of music, live interviews, information, news and entertainment. KUCI is the first developmental test station for the app, and the live broadcast will feature 30-minute segments on the interests and concerns of UCI students. |
