| Background: | Erwin Chemerinsky is founding dean and Distinguished Professor of law at UCI’s School of Law. He frequently argues appellate cases, including some in the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals. A prolific writer, Chemerinsky has written six books and more than 100 law review articles for such prestigious publications as the Harvard Law Review. He also pens a regular column on the U.S. Supreme Court for California Lawyer magazine, the Los Angeles Daily Journal and Trial magazine and often contributes to other newspapers and magazines. In April 2005, Legal Affairs magazine named Chemerinsky one of the “top 20 legal thinkers in America.” The Campus Conversations Series provides a brown-bag-lunch forum for contemporary topics related to equal opportunity and diversity.
