UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT SUPPORT
UC Irvine Student Affairs, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Manuel Gómez, supports the university’s academic mission from outreach to alumni participation. Student Affairs offers comprehensive programs and services to advance co-curricular learning, foster student leadership, enhance the quality of student life, and promote the general welfare of the campus community.

Student Affairs is organized around five clusters based on services provided to students. The five clusters are: Auxiliary Services, Counseling and Health Services, Dean of Students, Enrollment Services, and Student Housing.

The Division of Undergraduate Education, led by Dean Sharon Salinger, oversees campuswide programs affecting the education of undergraduates and promotes discussion of and action on undergraduate education issues. The dean advocates undergraduate academic interests for the campus and provides leadership in developing policies and programs that affect such areas as retention, course offerings (especially breadth requirements), honors programs and curricula, undergraduate research, academic advising and mentoring, academic support, instructional space, the instructional skills of faculty and graduate students, and the campus climate for teaching and learning.

The Division of Undergraduate Education oversees undergraduate academic programs that require campus-level attention and coordination and do not come under the authority of the heads of academic units or the Irvine Division of the Academic Senate.

Scholarship Support
Each year, the university enrolls a large, diverse population of highly qualified undergraduate students. Their most critical need is financial assistance in the form of scholarships. Scholarships made possible by private support enable talented, financially constrained students to achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.
