Student-founded nonprofit Irvine Global Innovation Group hosted its first Irvine Global Innovation Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at UCI. The international conference on technological advances brought researchers from Israel to participate in dialogue and promote collaboration with UCI faculty members. Future summits will focus on partnerships with other nations. Speakers included David Siegel, consul general of Israel in Los Angeles; David Nahai, president of David Nahai Consulting Services; Dr. Steven Cramer, clinical director of UCI's Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center; Benjamin Soffer, managing director of Technion Technology Transfer; Terrence Yang, angel investor at Tech Coast Angels; and Ray Chan, co-founder of K5Launch.
