Dodgeball record makes list of 2011 greatest moments in fitness »

In 2011, Anteaters proved once again that they could throw, duck and dive their way to the world record for largest dogeball game. The grand display of school spirit and sportsmanship earned the 'Eaters a place on New York City-based website "Greatist" list of the "Top 15 Most Inspiring Health & Fitness Images of 2011." The photo posted is by Luis Sinco of the Los Angeles Times. According to the website, the show of 4,488 players on Sept. 21 at Anteater Recreation Center fields was among the most "awe-inspiring events" in the health and fitness world. The match was one of many activities scheduled for UC Irvine's Welcome Week, during which more than 6,000 freshmen and transfer students joined the campus community.
