Hans Keirstead to speak at prestigious Aspen Ideas Festival ยป

Hans Keirstead
Hans Keirstead, a researcher with the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center who created the world's first stem cell-based treatment for spinal cord injury, is a featured speaker at the 2011 Aspen Ideas Festival, in Colorado. On July 1, Keirstead will be on the panel for "Game Changers: New Technologies to Cure Disease & Treat Injury." And on July 2, he will address the ethics of stem cell use on the "Frontiers of Medicine" panel, along with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, head bioethicist at the National Institutes of Health. Hosted by the Aspen Institute and The Atlantic, the festival gathers some of the world's most interesting thinkers and leaders to discuss their work, the issues that inspire them, and their ideas.
