UCI students to arm wrestle for global health

"Flex Your Muscles for Global Health," a co-ed arm-wrestling competition, will bring together UCI students in a creative and fun way to raise money for global medical care. The Feb. 15 event will feature men's and women's teams and solo participants, all of whom will pay registration fees of $10 to $15 per person. Spectators will be asked to donate $5. Last year, the competition raised $3,000 for Haitian earthquake relief. Sponsored by the UCI chapter of Physicians for Human Rights, the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Universities Allied for Essential Medicine, the event begins at 4 p.m. in the UCI Student Center's Pacific Ballroom. Proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. For more information, call 949-747-4929.
